study trips to China. Over the decades this resulted in an extensive collection of
600 objects of Chinese art, including a large specialist library as a source of
research and inspiration.
In addition to stoneware and porcelain, the collection focuses in particular on
bronze figures and over 300 jade carvings, which reflect the flourishing period
and highlights of Chinese art in the various dynasties. These include exceptional
bi-discs from the Qianlong period (1736-1796) and animal figures.
We are looking forward to auctioning another part of the Köpping Collection in
the upcoming auction and thereby passing it on to connaisseurs and international
Günther collections.
