Dear clients, dear friends of Schloss Ahlden,
we would like to draw your attention to our 182nd International Art Auction Sale with an offer of around 2900 lots.

In the first two auction days highlights such as a rare Art Nouveau casket based on a design by Carl Stock for Bruckmann und Sons, Heilbronn, which was presented to the general public at the Paris World Exhibition around 1900 will be offered (Lot 332). In addition it will be sold a couple of magnificent Victorian lidded vegetable bowls by Storr & Mortimer, who made silverware for Lord Nelson as well as King George III. and George V of England (lot 119).

In the range of 20th Century Design and Interiors we will offer three extravagant wall decorations by Carlo Bugatti with an architectural relief by Enrique Linares and paintings by Riccardo Pellegrini (lot 559-561).

Spectacular in the offer of jewelry is a glamorous diamond necklace with Colombian “Muzo emeralds” (lot 1096) with a corresponding emerald ring of 15.35 ct. (lot 1094) and a bracelet, also set with “Muzo emeralds” (lot 1095).

In the exquisite range of porcelain from the early 18th Century is an important pair of Augustus Rex vases with chinoiserie from the property of August the Strong, Elector of Saxony and Poland (lot 1588).

Outstanding among the Old Masters are several paintings by the Brueghel family. A paradise landscape with the creation of Adam by Jan Brueghel the Younger from the former Philipp Karl von Seinsheim (1713-1761) collection (lot 1614) and a multi-figural mythological scene "Sleeping nymphs overheard by satyrs" from the Max collection Gelder, Basel (lot 1623).

In Classical Modernism a preliminary study for the central panel of the triptych of the same name "End of recovery" from 1913 by the ‘Brücke’- artist Erich Heckel which was shown in the Folkwang Museum in Essen from 1930-1937 and has been exhibited in the Busch-Reisinger Museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts since 1950 (lot 1845).

Finally on the third day of the auction sale a Romanesque bronze crucifix from around 1100 from a Hildesheim private collection (lot 2722) as well as various Gothic sculptures fron an important Franconian collection (lot 2723 to 2730) will be auctioned.
