Weißgold, gest. 750. Zentral besetzt mit einem unbehandelten royalblauen
Burmasaphir von ca. 9,26 ct., entouriert von diversen Diamanttropfen
von zus. ca. 3,20 ct. (F-G/vvs). Sehr feine Goldschmiedeausführung
in Ajour. Gew. ca. 12,09 g.

Schon Marco Polo wusste davon zu berichten, dass die blauen Saphire aus Sri
Lanka, die sog. „Ceylon-Saphire“ einzigartig in ihrer Farbe, ihrem Glanz und ihrer
Klarheit sind. Legendär ist die exzeptionelle Sammlung in den Romanov-Juwelen.
1862 erwarb Zar Alexander II. von Russland für Zarin Maria Alexandrovna auf der
Weltausstellung in London einen der schönsten Ceylon-Saphire von über 260 ct.
